If you are an art owner or collector, trust officer, attorney, accountant or an insurance or art professional who needs a formal appraisal, you’ve come to the right place.
Alla Prima’s appraisal practice conforms with USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) 2018-2019 and adheres to the highest professional standards in the field including strict confidentiality, rigorous research, objective analysis and clear and relevant reporting of results.
Whether it is for a single work of art or a whole collection, appraisal services have a minimum fee of $225. If you aren’t sure you need a formal appraisal, a good place to start is an Online Consultation.
After the minimum fee, services are charged according to billable hours based on the unique aspects of each appraisal assignment. To get an estimate on the full cost for an appraisal, whether for a single work of art or an entire collection, please call or email.
Alla Prima offers three types of appraisal reports. The same standard appraisal process is used for each option, the difference is in how the results are communicated. We will help you determine the most applicable reporting option depending on your needs.
Written report for purposes related to taxes, art donation, insurance, legal proceedings, estate division, etc.
Restricted Appraisal Report
Written report for client informational purposes only.
Note: Unlike a Standard Report, this type of report is restricted to use by you, the client.
Oral Appraisal Report
Verbal report delivered via phone or in person. Like written reports, oral reports are substantiated by a workfile and written certification as required by Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
